Great pics  Big thumbs up
I am really looking forward to when I can afford a 10D.

The first one is incredible.

Nice man, I dig the contrail shot a lot.

What ISO was that last one shot at?

Also, I just got my 10D in the mail today, got it off Ebay from Cameta Camera, cost me $1700, but I needed the camera by the 16th of this month, so I look at it as I paid an extra $200 to get it on time. I also have that 100-400mm IS L on order, as well as a 24-85mm, should be here later in the week. Can't wait to take it out to the airport here, even though we only get 7 Alaska Airlines flights a day, and only half of which take place when the lighting is right, haha.

Nice shots. Some day I hope to buy a 10D. But unfortunately after over $1000 was stolen from me off eBay, I cant afford it.

@AA777
Nice pics man!
Do you have some more details like ISO, shutter speed and aperture? Obviously in these conditions the IS really pays off.
Were these shots all hand held, or did you use a monopod for additional stability?

I just started on my 10D and still debating whether to go for the 100-400 or a 70-200 [+ 1.4x/2x TC] for the higher end zoom. Looking at your pics, the 100-400 is definately climbing on my rankning, despite it's serious price tag overhere in the Netherlands!

All the shots were handheld, no tripod or monopod

Nice shots Matt .. I can already tell there is competition! But, competition between friends is good. Good luck with the new camera.

Amazing photos! I could use a lens like that (if my camera utilized lenses, which it doesn't) for contrail shots from my house.  Smile

Great shots!

AA777,

You can come to the dock only if you let me try your cam by taking pics of any ATA planes that we see coming in and out.

Deal?

I dont like bringing big crowds to the dock. I like to keep the groups under 3 for safety reasons.
