These two are prime examples of many that have been getting rejections this past few months. Vast majority of them are badscan and I don't know what more to do to improve the quality of the pictures.
These days with more and more people shooting and uploading digital from D100s and 10D's, old print shooters like myself just cannot compete with the advancement in photographic technology. Even with a film scanner and Vuescan, I still feel like a newbie with 5 photos online.

May010.jpg is generally not well defined, hence the badscan. It also looks over-exposed in some parts and under-exposed in other areas.
May074.jpg is border-line. I've seen similar things accepted, but I'd say the main reason is due to the jagged lines created mainly along the fuselage livery markings. If you've cropped this shot, I'd suggest you try and centre it up a little more as well.
