Availability Of The 10D Right Now In The States?

Topic says most of the story... How is Canon doing for delivery? Do any stores have stocks now (if not most of them??); if not how long is the delivery period right now?

And this with very little commercial marketing - why are so many people who would have considered $500 expensive for a camera 2 years ago willing to now spend 3 times that amount? I presume similar quantities of D100s are also being produced - where does all the money come from? Alternatively what products aren't being bought instead?

Getting all your lenses might be tougher.

You'd be surprised how effective that can be Smile

And of course there's always the threat of dropping a lump of L glass on someones foot!

On subject...on a whim I called a local dealer. They said they could have delivery in 5 days. Smile

. Guess I'm getting old, but anyone putting their fingertips on my lens will henceforward be known as "stumpy"!

Well I just phoned up Ritz camera in Santa Ana they have it in stock right now. I'm still debating whether or not to have it sent by mail here or not... I will definately buy my lenses in the states, but the body is either airmail or coming out of the store under my arm... However no one really knows until when the camera will still be in stock...
