Gee guys, thanks again. And yes Joe, it is Canon!
That one's been kicking around on my hard drive for three months now. I do that sometimes - process a photo, think "nah..." and leave it for ages and finally decide to upload it, usually very late of an evening after I've had one too many beers - "f*** it, that one looks OK, I'll upload it"! The photo would have been even better it ejazz was the driver!
The photo was taken at one of the best airports in the world for photos... LAS. Viewing park on Sunset is just great. Rent an SUV and stand on the roof, or rent a pickup and buy a set of ladders from Home Depot. Either way, you're 6 feet from the fence so no aggro from the local law enforcement. And the viewpoint is just abeam the touchdown point, meaning you can shoot these seriously front on approach shots over the fence without getting the underneath views that characterise places like Myrtle Avenue at LHR. The other good thing is that the short-final approaches are over a bright sandy area, and light reflected up from the bright sand means that you don't get dark undersides that often characterise approach shots.

Thanks for all the nice comments guys...
Serge, the Sing picture (and the America Wests) are taken with a Canon 100-400 lens used at the 400 end (35mm equivalent 640mm), and then there's a bit of cropping too, so I'd guess the 35mm equivalent for a full frame image would be something like 800mm. I always love going to Las Vegas - one of my favourite airports, as well as being one seriously good city to visit!
