Hello everyone,

just need your (quick) help. What was the Airporthotel at Heathrow with the great view of runway 09L/27R. I think it was either Radisson or Renaissance...???

Thanks for your help in advance...

Greetings
Tobi

Yup, that's gotta be the Renaissance. However, mind the fact that you can't open your room window. This can be quite a bummer when it's more than 30 centigrades outside! It tends to get really hot in the room...

Hi Tobi,

the Renaissance is perfect but make sure that you arrive there early to catch a room with a good view, a few days ago I arrived there too late and so I got only a room to the other site  Sad.

Tobi,

A pleasure meeting you at MAN some weeks ago and I'm sorry that our conversation was only brief due to the lack of time before my flight.

For shots similar to the one below, you'll need to be in a Deluxe/Club Room on the 3rd floor. The price per room per night is more expensive than the Standard Room although it includes breakfast and free drinks (non-alcoholic!) from the Club Lounge, so all is not lost!

Hope that helps and enjoy yourself!

Also the Travelinn is nice I think, I had booked the Ibis for my stay a week ago, but we passed the new Travelinn while going to 27R.

I think that, with a window facing towards the approach path of 27R, you must have marvellous views! And it is a lot cheaper than the Renaissance (49.95£ in weekends). And you can open a window! Big grin

Regards
Frederic

How do the windows affect the photo quality? From my own experience in the nearby WBC, I could only do shots at a 90 degree angle to the window.

The reason why I asked is that I'll fly to LHR from October 23rd to 25th for the last scheduled BA Concorde flight, and I need a hotel anyway so why not some spotting inside the room  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Anyone else flying in for that event? Maybe also interessting for an a.net get together?

What do you think?

Greetings from Hamburg

Hmmm, going back to LHR for the last Concorde flight definitely seems worth it. I'll think about it.
