Does anyone have experience with the Olympus C-720? What programs, what resolution do you use to make cool pictures of airplanes. I normaly use th My Mode with TIFF resolution.

My problem is the focus. A lot of pictures turn out blurry. Espcially those of airplanes seen from the side.

For example: http://fsmat.at/~berni/example.jpg

However, frontal views fullfill the airliners' criteria:

It doesn't seem to matter whether I use a long or a short shutter speed.

I would be thankful for your help.

I have the C700, almost the same thing basically. I was struggling with the blurry thing as well. But first off, lemme just say SHOOT in SHQ not in TIFF! Trust me, there's no notable difference, and it takes up WAY TOO MUCH space!

Anyway, I'll tell ya what I do with the 'blur' thing. I zoom in to a distance in what I plan to shoot the photo as. BTW my settings are all left alone, the only thing I do is change it to SHQ. I hold the shutter button down HALF way, and it does the manual focus. Move the camera along with the taxiing aircraft holding the shutter button HALF way down. Then I press it all the way, and there's no notable blur! Hope that helps!

Exactly what Continental said.

I use the C720, just lock the focus (depress shutter button half-way) and follow the aircraft. With the focus locked, there is no focusing lag, and helps produce better shots. The link to my photos is in my profile.
