Sadly, I am taking the day off from work to go catch the first Song flight coming in and out of LGA. I wil be filming it no matter what the runway configuration.

The first flight comines in from Tampa at 9:35AM and departs back there at 11:20AM.

Do you think they'll have a water cannon salute? Would be cool, but I doubt it.

Anyone else interested in coming along?

Regards

-Phil

This Monday, August 4.

CTB is a waste if it lands on runway 4 or 31, or departs on the same. you want a better view of that, dont you?

I am ready for any runway configuration. Bring it on! lol

N651DL is the newest Song aircraft. It was completed July 31st and I photographed it yesterday.. I wonder if it'll be used to fly into LGA.

Phil you can guarantee the first flight will have a water canon salute, if the first flight is the one coming in from Tampa thats the one that will receive the salute and possibly the outbound flight also, not sure about that. When I flew Songs inaugural service from JFK-PBI back in April we got the salute when we left JFK and when we arrived at PBI. So my guess would be the arriving flight would be the one.

Well, the JFK one was the first OVERALL flight for the airline. this is now one of many, which is why I am so curious.

I am also wondering if there is going to be a flyby.

I really haven't heard of too many flyby's in the US, especially for just new service.

The plane lands in about 20 minutes, and I am sitting here at work.

I woke up and saw the weather, which was POURING at the time. However, I looked at radars and satelites and KNEW it would clear up, which is most certainly did. Just like I predicted, we would have sun by 930, and I was right.

However, duties at my job that need to get done everyday, and with others on vacation, there is no one else to do it except for me. I also did not have my boss' number to call in sick, as my regular boss is on vacation as well.

I am pretty damn upset. I hope SOMEONE will have pics and send them to me, whether they are anet quality or not.

Well I dont have a car OR a cell phone. :-p

I jsut wanted ot be responsible and not leave my job hanging with such important tasks left undone that need to be completed daily. It's a bank, and such duties are crucial to smooth operation.

I see how it cleared up, and spoke with LGA's Airport Manager, who informed me that the arrival and cannon salute went well, which made me put my head down in regret and anger that I missed. I DID watch the arrival on passur, but that is OBVIOSULY not quite the same as witnessing it and getting it on film.

How often does a new airline come into boring LGA? And to see a 757 coming in, as opposed to other new LGA routes which usually get regional jets, was a big thing for me. I've been excited for months about it. Sad.
