which planes of the past or is still in service yet not made anymore is your favorite? i personally enjoy the 757, md80/90 and the 717.

Probably the L-1011. I'm fond of the 727's and 737 originals too. I'm old enough to have taken several trips in 727's and 707's.  Wink

Lockheed L-1049G Super Constellation. I'm that old.
Vickers Vanguard #2.
Douglas DC-8-43 #3 {R-R Conway engines}
(esp. since Air Canada used to use rev. thrust
in flight for expedited descent...was always dramatic).

757-200. Discontinuing these is a huge mistake from Boeing, there's no replacement for those long thin routes, and masses of European charter routes..........discussed elsewhere.

The 757-200 for sure although the extended DC-9 series is nice of course because of the 3-2 seating. Of the planes that aren't widely flown in the US anymore, then it's the 727-200.

I like the early Boeing jets as has been made clear in other posts. But, my all time favorite aircraft has to be the L1649A Jetstream Constellation. I never flew in one (tho I wish I had), but I recall seeing them at Newark Airport in the early and mid 1960s after conversion by TWA to airfreighter service. That plane looked cool! Another plane I like, and DID get a chance to fly in was the CV580 (Allegheny). I wouldn't mind a few more trips in one!
