I am making a trip from IAH-HKG this summer, and would like to know who has the best first class seating, and nicest trip itinerary ( layovers and such ) . Please let me know any suggestions, I am really looking foward to it and would love to here anything about the airline that is best for the trip!

PS. If they do not fly from IAH ( or code share ) I can always get myself to LAX or SFO to begin the journey

From Hong Kong i have flown extensively between HKG - USA....

i personally think best first class are

Emirates & SQ

since EK doesnt fly USA-HKG routes obviosuly SQ is the bset choice..

i woudl suggest LAX-SIN-HKG or maybe even New York - SIN - HKG..

but the New york flight would only have business (Raffles Class) becusae SQ only operatse their A345 on that route instead of the B744 on the LAX-SIn

The better trip in terms of service would be with CX from YVR, LAX or SFO.

The quickest would be with UA via ORD (about 19 hrs), second quickest would be CO to YVR then CX from there (about 20 hrs).

You would need to book well in advance for CX, normally first is fairly full.

Can't imagine that one can compare UA's first class to CX or SQ for that manner.

I don't have experience changing from domestic to international flight in LAX...but just going to TPE a year ago was a BIG hassle...  Sad Maybe LAX is not the best choice to do one-stop.

Enjoy your trip!  Smile

There are many good Asian First Classes. But if i had to rank them i would have to say...
1).Thai
2).Korean Air
3).Cathay Pacific
4).JAL
But if you can go to LAX i would recommend Korean Air for they have internet onboard and new AVOD and the service is by far one of the best. I hope you find the airline you want and if you need to know anything else about korean air just ask me!!!!

looking at the new first class seats I'd say Thai, Malaysia, or NH (JAL looks really nice, but not as much privacy it seems)

Cathay Pacific for sure. It'll be great if you go F from HKG too!
