Hello all,
I did a search and could not find exactly the information I was looking for. I am interested in A.net's frequent fliers opinions of who has the best current first class seats/service. I have some criteria though:
1) Only true first class airlines offering three classes of service
2) Current first class seats (not what could be or has been)
3) Photos are always appreciated

Have you checked SkyTrax?
Whether or not you accept their rankings for First Class (real F not domestic US
'business'), they have great information on the level of seat comfort and sleep ratings:

I was always a fan of SQ's F product. I go out of my way to fly SQ 1/2 HKG-SFO. However, that was before I had the opportunity to sample EK. Holy crap! I was incredibly impressed with touches like: better inflight entertainment including exterior camera views (down and ahead), better seat space (with vibrator and massage functions), private mini-bar in your seat area, and the innovative lighting in the F cabin. I am sure when SQ rolls out their new F product with the 380's, we will see some of these features in theirs. After all, SQ's F cabin has been essentially the same for many, many years now.

new AF first class (NEV seats) is really great, but unfortunately offered only on some routes where the demand exists (JFK, NRT, SIN, HKG, IAD, etc). You can find some trip reports in the corresponding forum

I have only ever flown first class with EK.
It was on the 777-300ER, and man it was nice. Lie flat seat/bed thing, with a massage fucntion. Big screen IFE with their ICE, which is AVOD. Mini bar, absolutely fantastic meals and beverages. Great crew too!
Cannot complain at all - it was fantastic - for the first time in my life I felt the flight was too short!!!! If all goes well and I have enough skywards miles - the next one will be 1st class on 1 leg...

I was going to post some asian airlines' websites featuring their First Classes... but then, hey... I thought... Flavio340... you have a brain, don't you? You can look up each airlines' website and look it up yourself! Why should we do all the work for you?
It's very easy to just post and ask questions like you did... but honestly, it's like asking people what their favourite brand of vanilla icecream is. Every one has an opinion.. which one is yours?

I'm a big fan of NH New Style F, but EK's A345 "private" suites are pretty tough to beat. Though I look forward to see the 23" LCDs on CX's new F (I have a 23" LCD for my Mac).

I'd have to agree here!

I'm always a fan of BA's First class, excelent service, good choice of food, good seats and the IFE isn't usualy that bad.
Every flight I've had in BA F has been great.

Never managed F class myself but quite a few of my mum's colleague's have and it sounds like BA comes out the best. However, it will be interesting to see what SQ brings out tomorrow

Quoting OzGlobal (Reply 1): Obviously, for now, avoid US carriers.
US carriers are not as bad in first class as a lot of people on Airliners.net assume. I've only flown on United, but I think they offer pretty good service. It isn't the same attitude that you get on Asian carriers, but is still pretty good. Both the United Suite and AA Flagship suite offer a lot of privacy and comfort. They are far better than the recliner chairs found on other airilnes. I was more satifisfied on United than Lufthansa. I don't deny that there are other airlines with better products, but UA and AA have a comfortable product that have pretty good service. Sure the flight attendants don't fawn all over you like they do on Singapore Airlines and they are older, but some of those veteran men and women provide excellent service that is very professional. When I fly first class, I like things to be accessible and I don't want to wait if I desire something, but I don't like it when flight attendants constantly ask me if everything is ok everytime that I flinch in my seat.
If you have never designed an airplane part before, let the real designers do the work!

Quoting TACAA320 (Reply 14): Compared with few Latin American carriers, some European ones and most Oriental, with all due respect, for me they [UA, AA] are crap.
In economy you are very correct. However in First Class, I know for sure that UA is not that bad and is fairly comparable to most airlines. They have a good product. I haven't flown on AA, but assume that it is very similar.
You can check out the various trip reports that I have written to see my full opinion. I'll happily fly them. However for the same price, there are other airlines (frequent flyer loyalties aside) that are better.
