I recently just came back from Amsterdam on Monday and it was my third time to Schiphol Airport and I have to say I dont think there is a better airport in the world. Transiting is a breeze, the train station is right below, it has its own shopping mall, it is a spotters paradise with the panorama terrace, great restaurants and lounges, and hey, the moving sidewalks talk to you!! I was however disappointed to see World of Wings closed down. Meh, I guess I'll just have to stick to aviation world at YYZ.

Good to hear you like SPL. It's also a nice workplace. I really hope you are just as happy with KLM? If not, just watch your step  Wink

Next time go to the Aviation Hobby Shop, close to the airport. You'll be amazed  Wink.

definitely!! Their jeppesen map section alone is as big as the whole World of Wings was!
Granted, it's in a bit of a funny spot, about a 20 minute busride from the Plaza, but so worth it...

Schiphol is very nice. I haven't been to Asia to judge Hong Kong and Singapore. In terms of the architecture Schiphol is not a highlight, but in terms of convenience, clearness, lightness and overview I agree with you !

No prizes for guessing what you were doing in Amsterdam then

It is an amazing airport, I choose to fly via it as often as possible instead of LHR, FRA or CDG etc... Its laid out so clearly and has great connection on the railway network as you say, right below the terminal.
