I can only comment on the two domestic US airlines, but here goes:
AA: 6.5
UA: 1
UA's score is up from a goose egg thanks to one flight attendant who was absolutely great. Every other time I've flown on UA, the employees treat me like it is my privilege to be served by them and they would honestly be much happier if I were in prison, where they wouldn't have to deal with me. Needless to say, I try to avoid them.

I've flown with them 3 times and had bad experiences, maybe they have gotten their more of their acts together since, but thats what I know from personal experience

wow... I've never heard of anyone who would rate SQ as the worst airline... but I guess it all comes down to what flights you have. I understand!

To be honest, I like UM as well... have enjoyed a few quite good flights on them - too bad they're just a semblance of what they used to be... they, and especially the citizens of Zimbabwe, deserve much better.
Regarding SQ - extremely unfriendly staff that ignored some passengers completely and, when I asked for mineral water, honestly told me they didn't have any (the bottle was on top of the cart, and it was almost full); food was inedible (I think it was supposed to be meat, but it wasn't possible to get either a knife or teeth through it... hmm... maybe that's why I'm a vegetarian now... ) and the seats were pure torture for my back - I don't remember having similarly uncomfortable seats on another flight since (or before).
For me, that's enough to not recommend an airline...

AA - 7. Never had a bad experience flying them and have always been treated with respect.
UA - 6. Only flew them once ORD-GRR. Didn't get a great feel for inflight service, but I was flying NRSA, and I showed up to the gate 10 minutes before dept after arriving late on my HP flight, and the gate agent was nice enough to let me on even though she didn't have to - so that was a positive experience.
