This year there are lots of changes in the categories, with airlines ascending, descending and new carriers! There´s also a livery change. And a new cat 5: LCCs.
The 5 categories on the Roberto Camacho Weverberg Cup II are the following:
Category 1: The big groups. Carriers which transport more than 5 million passengers a year.
Category 2: National flag carriers which dont clasify or dont break the 5 million mark.
Category 3: Secondary carriers which are strong competitiors to the bigger carriers.
Category 4: Regional carriers.
Category 5: The LCCs, unless they transport more than 5 million pax a year.
So, will be posting the category pics soon. First-round voting ends Thrusday Nov. 30th, 8:00pm eastern.
This year´s changes:
Only 3 winners per category on the first round, ties will be sorted out according to who got the votes first.
Carriers from spanish speaking caribbean nations included.
As a last explanation, there were many airlnes which were not included as their liveries resembled a lot to their parent companies, so its useless to have two same liveries, these were:
Aerorepublica
Oceanair
Aerolineas del Sur
Aerolitoral
Wayraperu and Click make part of groups but their liveries are different.
