According to quite a few people Iberia has the best service for any european airline both domestically and long haul with the most friendly crew. What are your thoughts if you have flown IB before?

Flown them hundreds of times but I'd be lying if I said that they have one of the most friendly crews... nothing outstanding, just right.
God prevents you from having delays, reroutings, special assistance or any other kind of inconvenience... then they are not really up to what you'd expect from a major airline.

Iberia is actually quite good...but of course not the best. Other airliners such as BA or Swiss have a much better service. But people have different views. btw I think this thread is going to be again a "bash IB" conversation!
bye! rmcf

Having flown them tens of times I find that statement hard to match with IB. Service is lacking...you are just getting a seat and crews are often snobbish and rude. I much prefer Air Europa and will fly them whenever possible on my intra-Spain routes.
I will stick with American carriers on the trans-Atlantic portions of my itineraries due to much friendlier crews.
For best in Europe, give me BA or CSA any day.

I feel that is a hit or miss when flying Iberia. I have had the best experiences and then the not so great experiences. Having flown both long-haul and short-haul with them I find the service outstanding on long-haul flights however it does lack on short-haul flights but that is the way it is usually with most short-haul flights in Europe.

In my opinion, Iberia is now one of the best airlines in the world due to the next reasons:
1. Has one of the most moderns fleets in Europe (346, 343, 321, 320, 319, CRJ, CR9,...)
2. It's levels of punctuality is superb. I fly with them twice last week from AGP to TFN and from there to BCN and all the flights took off on time and landed 30 minutes before.
3. The crews are pretty, kind and always with an smile in their face.
4. See the new interiors of the new 321's!!!
I know Iberia can not compare with LH, AF and BA in number of routes but is in the way to catch them, no?

haha, whaat. IB might not be a bad airline, you get what you pay for, on most occasions, but airlines such as BA, VS, AY or LX put them to shame easily.

Dear RAFVC10, I have to disagree. Iberia flights almost NEVER arrive on time. I've flown with them maybe 2000? 3000? times and I know what I am talking about. First, when I saw the thread I thought it was a joke but now I realize there are some people out there who really believe it! I should say that Iberia is more or less fine when everything goes well, but, but, but, IF there is a problem (delay, technical problem with the AC, fog, lost baggage, rerouting, etc.) then they get lost immediately. Iberia employees just don't know how to react on a professional and efficient way, they just began to cry to each other in a very theatrical way (in the Spanish, comic, way: a lot of noise, poor results. Well I am Spaniard, I feel I am entitled to say this), they talk via their walkie-talkies and nothing happens. And they don't know how to communicate with their customers. They are inefficient and incompetent. That's all. Regards,

Erm, since when were American crews friendly. I mean they're ok, but not a patch on BA or even BY

If youve flown with them so many times and theyve cocked up so many times, why fly with them after the 100th time, they cant be that bad if youve flown with them 2000 times, although Im guessing this is gross exagerration

Hi Spantax,
thanks for your comments.
As you said, Iberia has many, many situations that seems a joke airline but change, no? And have you the same bad luck with all other airlines?

Iberia are crap. I hate their crews. I have flown with them many times and think if anything they are the worst airline in Europe. BA service is constistently outstanding.

That may sound childish but for me the best european airline would be the one who owns safe planes and who hires the best pilots that can handle well and safely an emergency situation. Meal or no meal, crew being friendly or not is really what I look at the least honestly.
