I was wondering if everyone in this forum can remember the airline, equipment and route of their first commercial flight.

Mine was: Eastern Airlines
Boeing 727-200
FMY-ATL

Connection: Eastern Airlines
Lockheed L-1011
ATL-BUF

August, 1977

US Air Express f-27 LNS-PIT. I dont know if the carrier was Allegheny or Empire who flew the f-27. supposed to return on a Shorts 330, but ened up going to MDT on a BAC1-11. I still have to coloring book the flight attendant gave me on the F-27. Of course my less than perfect coloring skills ruined it.

United DC8 from IAD to SFO, then a United DC8 from SFO to HNL. My mom and I were flying to Honolulu to see my dad on R&R from Vietnam in 1968.

I remember that I was initially more impressed with the mobile lounges at IAD than the DC8. I think I still have the wings the FA gave me somewhere, and I got to go to the flight deck on both legs.

Those flight deck visits changed everything!  Smile

Regards.

I was 15 days old, so I can´t remember it, but I know it was a flight between Lanzarote (ACE-GCRR) y Las Palmas (LPA-GCLP) operated 28 years ago by Fokker 27 and DC-9

My humble apologies...

My first flight was as a baby on an AA DC 3 SDF ELP with many stops (don't remember any of it).

First flight I remember was on an EA DC 4 nightcoach SDF-ATL-PIE-MIA in mid fifties.

Much later I did get to fly on AA Ford trimotor on way to Smithsonian.

My first commercial flight was on an Eastern L-188A Electra from DCA-LGA on Thanksgiving Day in 1959. N525EA
It had the original Golden Falcon paint job and, to me, it was beautiful.
Later in time, I became the powerplant engineer, responsible for the engines and propellers on the Electra. I got my F/E on the Electra and even got to fly it a few times.
I've been on them from Hudson's Bay to Colombia.
If you can't guess, the L-188 is one of my all time favorites.
I even have a prop blade from an Electra (ex-Nordair) in my den.

TOL-DAY-TPA. I believe I was 1 and a half (not that I am remembering this)...but I have the original paper tickets from 1984. Really, really faded but sitting in my filing cabinet. Pretty damn cool seeing it.

My first flight was a Dubrovnik-Istambul, with an Aviogenex TU134.
At that time, I was young and impressed by the size of the plane. Today, I realize how small it is.
This flt was really nice. (it was a day flt)
But the return was a nightmare: night flt, with a lot of turbulences, lightening, etc. You are happy only once you are on the ground...

My first commercial flight was in March 1956 on an Eastern Airlines Super C Constellation. The routing was supposed to be MIA-PHL-EWR-BOS, but because of a blizzard in the Northeast it wound up being MIA-PHL-JFK (Idewild Airport at that time). Had to wait for them to unfreeze some steps so we could get off the airplane. Remainder of the trip was by train.

I was about 3, went on a Monarch Airlines 757 (what an experience, but to me back then it just was a simple plane!) from LTN to Palma Majorca.
