Greetings everyone. I was thinking today of some names for airline mileage programs that should be change because they sound kind of lame and dumb. What are some names of program names that sound dumb and lame to you? Thank you for your replies.

I really don't know about one.

By the way: Which one do you personally think is the dumbest?

When considering the least creative name for a mileage program, Alaska Airlines' Mileage Plan program comes to mind. Sounds totally generic, as though one could be referring to membership in the mileage plan of any airline or even a credit card issuer for that matter.

I don't think Austrian Airlines' Miles and More is extremely imaginative.

I wouldn't call this dumb, but Qantas Frequent Flyer is very straight-to-the-point.

WidgetBoi...Lufthansa actually operates the Miles & More program, Austrian is just a member by virtue of not having their own plan.

I agree with Tango-Bravo that Alaska's Mileage Plan is the worst name.

USAirways321,

Thanks for the info! I wasn't aware that Austrian didn't have a plan of their own, however, I still think Lufthansa could come up with a better name for their program.

While I'm not a fan of the title of American's frequent flier program either, you have to give them credit for coming up with something creative!

Braniff Airlines Part II (84-89) had a program called, "Get it All" However, their was only one employee that gave it all. You never ever wanted a room next to her on a layover. (opps did I say that!) However, miss you much S.B-T. Where ever you are howling .

I kind of think Sky Miles isn't all that original, and even though Frontier Airlines is one of my favorite airlines, I don't understand the name "Early Retuns"

I wonder what that new airline "OneTime" will call theirs? That was a marketing blunder right there I must say.

Can't believe no one has mentioned "Eurobonus" yet. Great airline and program, but the name is just silly. Of course, goes well with their "Euroclass".
