In March i'm going to be flying NZ, LHR - AKL via HKG, Economy class, and was wondering if anyone else here could give me any ideas as to what the flight is like, and also the HKG stopover. Any comments as to anything are appreciated!  Smile

The good news is that the seat pitch on the NZ 747s is pretty much the best you'll find in standard economy. It is 34'' inches with leg supports which are very nice. The seats are nicely leather wrapped to be nice and comfortable. There is fully on demand IFE with PTVs which again are really nice and the top of the class. The flight attendants are great on NZ. Kiwis provide for excellent service, although you will also see some of the LHR based crews. Overall NZ is pretty much the best way to go.

HKG is better than LAX since you don't have to worry about being confined up in LAX because of the ridiculously strict US immigration laws. You can get off the plane and move around HKG's very nice terminal.

NZ LHR-HKG-AKL is far superior to BA or QF on the Kangaroo route.

If you have never designed an airplane part before, let the real designers do the work!
