I want to fly to relatives in Vancouver and I'm wondering what the best airline to fly is. Stops, IFE, Service and price are important to me. Whats the best airline?(I dont mind codeshare flights!) These are the airlines I know do it in one stop; QANTAS, JAL, KAL, Cathay (Sometimes) and China Airlines. Two stops; Cathay (Sometimes), Air NZ, SQ, Air Pacific, Air Canada, United and BA. Whats the best airline?

If your travel plans are between November 2 and March 28 then Air New Zealand is the best choice.

Currently Qantas probably offers the best choice from Brisbane at the moment.

Why fly non stop when you can connect

I'd personally give KE a shot. Nice air craft (BNE-ICN-BNE on 333 and ICN-YVR-ICN on 772), very good and friendly service, ICN is a great airport to transit and spend a few hours. If you are not fixed on certain dates KE usually offers good fares as well. I flew them twice in the last 2 years FRA-ICN-BNE and BNE-ICN-BNE in business and had great flights.

Would have picked them for our travel to Europe in October (in economy with my wife and infant) but booked MH only because I was not keen on spending 1 night in ICN on the way to Europe even though KE would have picked up the hotel room charge.

Cheers,

Peter

I found their English to be more than sufficient and they are truly friendly and the crew on my flights really seemed to enjoy their job. Just don't speak too fast or use slang expressions and you should have no problems at all.

Cheers,

Peter

The KE schedule isn't brilliant im afraid, you would require a hotel in ICN because the transfer time would be 24hrs and 40mins. Also because the BNE-ICN runs 5x weekly and the ICN-YVR runs only 3x weekly, the only days you can depart BNE for this 24hr change of aircraft os either a thursday or a sunday.

The reutrn flight is better though, with a 2hr 25 minute connection and you can depart YVR on a Monday, Wednesday Or Friday.

KE 814 BNE-ICN 08:25-17:40 (1_345_7) 333 10hrs 15mins
KE 71 ICN-YVR 18:20-12:20 (1_3_5__) 772 10hrs

KE 72 YVR-ICN 14:20-17:40+1 (1_3_5__) 772 11hrs 20mins
KE 813 ICN-BNE 20:05-06:45+1 (_234_67) 333 9hrs 40mins

In my view, go for CX

Don't think that I say this just because of my user name (it happens to be CXfirst, because CX was the first airline I flew first class in)

That is exactly why we didn't book with KE to FRA even though KE would have paid the hotel on the way to FRA and would have provided passes to the business class lounge on the return trip with a layover in ICN ob about 8 hours. If you are still considering KE suggest you check with KE if they will provide same for your outbound trip to YVR.

What do you define as best ?

The shortest trip time will be with either JAL (via NRT) or QF (via LAX), CX would need to stop on the way up as the flight from BNE arrives in HKG after the YVR flights departs.

If you wanted to do some travelling on the way, another option would be a circle pacific fare http://www.oneworld.com/ow/air-trave...tinental-fares/circle-pacific-fare

Another idea would be to fly to SYD and catch Air Canada directly in to Vancouver with a stop in HNL.
