Well this is really tough for me, CO offers and excellent product and has a wonderful fleet and inflight experience. DL on the otherhand has made some wonderful changes since BK such as new uniforms, check-in counters, fleet interiors, a/c paint, remodelling in key airports, new boarding process, and a massive route expansion. For that im going to with DL, besides that they call ATL home

CO- Flight schedules that suit my needs.
DL- Peculiar schedules that seem engineered to have me arrive at my vacation destination late in the evening and depart for home at an ungodly hour of the morning...or else travel 500 miles out of the way and go through two connections.
CO- Occasional fare sales that make CO's the cheapest fares in my market for my preferred destination.
DL- Fares that are at best middling-average-priced for my preferred destination.
CO- Connect at IAH...ho-hum.
DL- Connect at ATL...ho-hum.
I really wanted to give this one to DL as they're the current underdog as well as my hometown favorite, but CO has more of the things I look for in an airline.

As much as Delta is in the news and has significantly improved its products recently, Continental has been the status quo for excellent service on a legacy carrier in the U.S. for a good number of years now.
But this is a hard choice! Both have great fleets (I like it when U.S. airlines are all-Boeing/MDD), both have hubs in New York (I don't live there but it is a good thing for an airline to have heavy ops in the largest city in the U.S.), I've had great experiences on both, Delta's interiors are awesome but CO gives an actual sandwich instead of a box, and I can earn WorldPerks miles on both of them due to SkyTeam.
But I'm gonna just give this one to CO by a hair - Delta's on its way up but it's not quite to CO's level just yet.

Although i've heard some very good things about CO, and the look like an excellent airline, i haven't flown them. I did fly DL however, and i really love them so as long as DL exists, i think bad things should happen before i abandon DL... so obviously

wow Im surprised at the outcome so far... when I saw the thread I had planned on saying "how can you put CO and DL on the same playing field."
CO isn't my favourite airline, but in America it happens to be my second favourite, and DL isn't my first. I recently took a few flights on DL first class... I wasn't impressed at all.
to some people the sky is the limit, to aviation enthusiasts, its home!

I've just begun working with CO on the ramp at ONT... I find 737s quite pleasurable to work on. I love DL, and I love that they fly 767s into SAN, but their new livery has had me lose a lot of respect for them... So for this one, I'm going for CO.

Quoting DALelite (Reply 17): My voice goes out for Delta. They have achieved great things in the last two years. Well, and they have always been a good airline.
Sorry, but the shoes off addition/subtraction was all Delta'd up somehow around reply 17.......how does CO go from a tally of 8 on reply 16 to a 7 on reply 17? That is on offensive foul DALelite! WRONG and a recount of all ballots is now required!
