What full service airline and LCC are the worst competitors to go in competition against as a start up. For me it will be.....

FULL service: Qantas or Continental
LOW cost carrier: Virgin Blue or Southwest.

Im not saying these airlines are bad but they are very hard to compete against.

Full Service would most likely be QANTAS, British Airways and the Latin Airlines Network... Most oneworld airlines are, in my opinion, rather evil.

Worst LCC competition would probably be Southwest and jetBlue, as both of those airlines offer a high-quality product and are unusually zealous about providing ultra-low fares.

LCC-Southwest of course
Legacy- AA all the way, they have even been known to file lawsuits when their turf is threatened like the Long Beach Fiasco with Jet Blue, Good thing Jet Blue won Big grin

I agree with you, GreatAnsett,

LAN is a very tough competitor, and sometimes they sacrifice consumers while taking other airlines out of the business: Ladeco, DAP, CO, UA, Aerocontinente, etc etc etc

in order: 721,146,732,763,722,343,733,320,772,319,752,321,88,83,744,332,100,738, 333, 318, 77W, 78, 773 and 380

AA has a reputation for being ruthless at times. In just one example, they lobbied successfully for the Wright Amendment which severely limits WN's flights in & out of Love Field.
