Becoming An Airline Pilot

Hi guys this is most likely quite an obvious question to most of you. If i go for flying lessons and pass all the exams can i become an airline pilot flying a Boeing or Airbus eventually and how likely is it I would get a job once i had my licence and was type rated? cheers
