I'm flying PHX-MSP on US in F on July 11. Has anybody noticed any improvement in service? The website says they're making improvements, namely to the food. Are they still serving pasta salad and wine in plastic cups?

If anything, all (or all but one) PHX-MSP flights are at least old America West flights, which tend to have a little bit better service in first. I've never sat up there on HP or US myself, but at any rate, last year I was in a forward aisle seat in economy and could see through the mesh curtain that they were at least using real plates and silverware (except possibly plastic knives). But if you are on the one flight operated by the old-US (US east) then I don't know how that is at all.
The F/A serving in first class on that flight, despite being 130 years old, had a smile on her face the whole time, and was nice to us back in economy those few times she came back into our cabin (she was in F for most of the flight).

Quoting JRDC930 (Reply 2): Hell will freeze on the day any American carrier improves service in F class
Any American carrier? Well, looks like its gonna get a lot colder in hell soon!
The proper term is "on final" not "on finals" bud...

Fly F in CO. Even short three hour flights the service is excellent.

United's Premium Service seems like a definite improvement to me:

I am in F on US quite often - the F/As are generally as attentive as any other carrier in this country. The food is there - so don't complain. You can always not eat it. I had a great shimp pasta with pesto on PIT-DEN recently.
For me F is about having space to get work done (using the laptop, etc). Having a big seat and a skinny me is helpful too.
