you will probably find most people go onto these sites to complain about airlines, as i checked up on Royal Jordanian on the same site, and all there was were complaints just about! not as many people go online to just talk about how good a flight was, on such a site!

It has certainly gone downhill over the years. I remember back in 1995, my first ever flight, and the next few years on VS were great. The last few years I've had PTVs not working, controllers too sticky to work, and tired-looking seats.

I wouldn't say they're the worst. BA is pretty good at poor customer service - correction BA is PATHETIC at customer service. Of the 10 or so VS transatlantic flights and 6 BA transatlantic flights I've been on, I would still choose VS anyday if I only had those two to choose from. Even BA biz class was diabolical, nasty FAs, and just about "edible" food.

Now, VS Upper Class..... mmmm! That is a different story - great experience but I'm not sure I'd fork out that much myself for a ticket.

Sorry Todd to disappoint you, but before you make such comments please read some of the remarks that have been made on the site.

Just flew SFO-LHR-SFO.
Nothing out of the ordinary.
Edible food.
Entertainment system that entertained.
Attentive cabin crew.
A good value for my money.
And the BEST PART!
I made it there and back.....safely. I witnessed no parts falling off the aircraft. Pilots sounded sober. Will definitely use them again. Looking forward to what type of product they will bring to the US, and specifically SFO.
Remember, there are people in this world who are not happy unless they are ranting and raving about something.......

Virgin has one of the best economy classes ever! If people complain about the colour of the seats being too bright for their eyes, then i suggest you see an optician. If people complain about the entertainment then that is just weird. Lets remember some airlines don't even have PTV's, and Virgin was one of the first airlines to introduce them, a good 7/8 years back. Also if you think the likes of Omnia or whatever are better than the likes of v:port, then that too is not a good sign, once again Virgin Atlantic being one of the first to introduce On-Demand IFE. Sure, sometimes it doesn't work, and yes on the aircraft that have v:port do have black boxes under the seat, taking up a third of your legroom, but at least Virgin are trying to move forward and try new things. Once Virgin's v:port is working all well and they have moved the boxes to a suitable location (like they said they would when i complained after my experience from LAX) i can almost guarentee that BA will copy, and introduce the same thing.

The only thing that i can complain about in terms of VS is the second meal you get (on most transatlantic flights anyway - afternoon tea/breakfast) is more like a snack, but its still edible.

Before anybody rants, i'm not bashing BA here, I'm just explaining why VS have the complete opposite to what these people have said. And like Toddy333 said, most people go onto these sites to complain. They have one bad experience, say its the worst airline ever, then are too scared to go back, and have a good experience or go back, have a better experience and then don't want to say they were wrong before.

Here we go again, the weekly VS bashing thread.  Insane

Please try using the search function before posting, this subject gets beaten to death every other week.

It still amazes me how people can slag off VS' economy class when the likes of LH and alot of other airlines too, don't even have PTV's in econ, let alone AVOD !!!!, and most US carriers are charging for alchohol in Y.

Yeah VS' seat pitch might be a bit crap, but that is about the only bad thing about econ, but it is certainly no worse than BA's because its exactly the same as BA's.

If you want a truely aweful experiance in coach - fly LH on an Airbus A340. Ultracramped!! The first two minutes are tolorable, then it's downhill from there.

BIG YAWN  Yawn

As stated by Leezyjet this subject has already been extensively debated.

In fact a topic with the same title was started by the same person on the Civil Aviation forum a few weeks ago!!

It's time to stop bashing VS.  Pissed
