I just returned from my second round trip on XJet SAN-BFL. They are GREAT!!
You should expect a bag of Sun Chips, maybe some granola trail mix, and a couple of cookies, along with beverage service.
The flight will probably be shorter than the scheduled block time.
There are a large number of spots reserved for XJet's EMB145's at the commuter terminal at SAN - when you get off the plane, you will be escorted into the terminal and right to baggage claim. It should go VERY quickly!!
Check-in is very simple - the computers are up for the electronic check-in, but every time I've been, people have been checked in by very friendly agents. Security is pretty quick (although all it takes is one person who has lived under a rock for the last ten years and doesn't know they have to take their shoes off!!), and when your flight is called, you will be escorted to your plane. Good thing, as there are sometimes more than one airplane there!!
When you get back, file a trip report - hopefully your flights were as good as mine!!

Quoting QXatFAT (Thread starter): I am flying on the simi new FAT-SAN flight on Monday and back on Tuesday.
- What should I expect on service?
- How is the airport in SAN for the ExpressJet service?
- Load factors high?
I have flown Xjet numerous times since they started service in California earlier this summer. My flights from MRY-ONT or MRY-SAN consisted of two drink and two snack services. Service was friendly, the FAs smiled at each passenger and chatted with a few of them (including myself) for a few minutes. Their was also quite a large drink and snack selection. On a flight from MRY-ONT, I talked with the XE flight attendant about the load factors on XE. She made the comment that she flew the FAT-SAN route a few times and that it was almost 100% full. With that in mind I would expect quite high load factors from FAT-SAN-FAT.
The Commuter Terminal at SAN where XE runs its operations out of is modern and clean, but it is in my opinion quite cramped. Other airlines such as QX, OO, MQ, and DL, also run aircraft from this terminal, and although XE is the largest user of the Commuter Terminal (in terms of flights I believe), these other airlines add a little more difficulty and lines in my opinion, but still you should not be waiting very long! Also, be prepared for a short walk across the tarmac to your aircraft!
Hope this helps you! I enjoyed my flights on XE, and I hope you will too!

You should expect a very professional flight crew that is absolutely well trained with safety first! I hate that CO did what they did with Express Jet and the contract to help create XE and their routes, but dealing with them both professionally and as a passenger.........GO XE!

Well thank you guys! Sounds like its gona be a good service so far. I am looking forward to getting on this bird and taking my short trip to SAN.
These next few questions might sound a bit stupid but I just wana clearify...
1. Are the snacks a buy on board or are they free? (I have never flown Express even for CO before)
2. How would you rate them in service compaired to OO and QX?
3. If XE is seeing load factors out of FAT with 100% how early do you think I should be at FAT and at SAN? I know for my flights on QX I arrive 1 1/2 hours early as those are good load factor flights and with my flights on HP and AA, I can arrive 1 1/2 to 1 hour before flight time.

Snacks, sodas and other snacks are free. Alcohol is $5-$10 if I remember correctly.
Quoting QXatFAT (Reply 4): 2. How would you rate them in service compared to OO and QX?
I would rate XE's service and overall experience better than OO and YV. I have never flown QX, so I cannot make a comparison. However, I can safely say that I find XE's service is better than both OO and YV. For example on relatively similar route (flying time wise) run by both OO and YV (FAT-LAX, FAT-LAS, FAT-PHX), I have found good service to be varying with flight crew and aircraft. On XE, I have always found a cheerful crew and great service from them, with more drink and snack runs than OO and YV. I also think that XE has much better seats than YV and OO, they are all leather and have more padding than any I have ever seen on any aircraft I have flown with YV and OO (mostly CRJ-200s).

2-1.5 hour before you get their is fine.

I flew Express Jet from Tucson to Sacramento on Sunday, July 15th. The service was great..earphones were passed out for the audio channels. There was a snack service consisting of cerceal, breakfast bars and another choice that escapes my mind. The plane was clean and I had an exit row seat on the left side whick was comfortable. The only down side is that with two flights a day to SMF choice is limited and I worry about cancellations and rebooking to Tucson.

All snacks and drinks (and meals on longer segments) are free, as well as complementary headphones for the in-flight XM Radio. Most flights get the earbuds, but there are a few of the older ones still floating around (I had a plane come in yesterday with a bag full of them). You are always welcome to use your own-- the XM is complementary either way. There is alcohol available for purchase, which runs roughly the same cost as on other airlines, with the exception of beer. Beer on XE is $1/can.
Please be sure to let us know how the trip goes for you... and thanks for flying with us!

I have had wonderful experiences with ExpressJet...I fly with them, under COA all the time.
Expect, as said before, a snack and variable load percentage (sometimes high, sometimes low) depending on route and time.
Enjoy! Post a TR if you can!

I would have to say that since Expressjet completely redid their interiors and other things to fit their stand-alone service, I would expect to have NEW interiors, and NEW attitudes.

Express jet is a good airline. I flew from PVR to IAH on them once, and I was fortunate to get the private seats on the left side of the cabin. The Flight attendant was nice, and I got a full can of soda, versus the cup you get on the main line.
