Just out of curiousity, has anyone flown on the old East German flag carrier Interflug? And how was your experience with IF (Ground Staff, Check-In, in flight service, the whole thing)? I'd like to know also about how Immigration in SXF, LEJ or DRS for example was (I know, that's unrelated to IF, but since so little is known about immigration in airports during the days of the old GDR, it's still interesting to know how it was and how it may have differed from border patrols at the territorial borders between East and West Germany).

I flew twice with IF (albeit once only before the fall of the wall)
The flight that counts was SXF-CPH on a Tu-134 just in early 1989.
Altogether nothing spectacular! Just everything organized very professional. Including hasslefree transit from West-Berlin to SXF. No problems at the border check-point or anywhere else !
