Hi guys:
I have a question for all those who have flown EY before. I am booked to fly DEL-AUH-JFK on the 2nd of September in J class, i choose this flight because of the fact i would get to fly the A345, which will be a first for me. What i wanted to ask you was, anyone know which plane is flown in the DEL-AUH sector? On the website it says 330-200 and on my amadeus itinerary it says A346. Personally i have seen the A345 landing in DEL, so i am throughly throughly confused!
Anyways my questions are as follows:
1. Which a/c can i expect on the 2nd of september from DEL-AUH, if its a 332, will it have the new Pearl Zone on it? The pictures i have seen in the DB show that some leased 332's have the SQ "regional" business class seats. So which one will it get?
2. Has anyone flown on the 345 of EY from AUH to JFK? How was your flight?
3. How would u recommend the J class service on EY?
4. Do they have scale model aircraft available onboard?
5. I had to choose from BA and VS and i concluded that i would take EY for the 345, was that a wise decision? Would you do the same?
6. Does the Pearl zone have lie flat seats?
Anyways any other suggestions would be appreciated.
Warm regards
Nitin

Hi Nitin,
Not looking great I have to say...
Showing only 'J4' and 'C6' in business class - 'D' is zeroed out but the waitlist is still open.
Stangely though, the advance seating chart is showing only 1 left to allocate - '11E'
Hope it works out for you !
Cheers from sunny Manchester...

I just flew BOM-AUH-JFK this past Sunday(12th). I can't help you on the DEL-AUH leg, but I can answer some questions regarding JFK.
Quoting Deaphen (Thread starter): 1. Which a/c can i expect on the 2nd of september from DEL-AUH, if its a 332, will it have the new Pearl Zone on it? The pictures i have seen in the DB show that some leased 332's have the SQ "regional" business class seats. So which one will it get?
My aircraft from BOM was changed multiple times, 343 to an 332 with a Pearl bed to a 332 with regional seats. No real telling till the day of departure I am afraid. Best thing to do is keep checking.
Quoting Deaphen (Thread starter): 2. Has anyone flown on the 345 of EY from AUH to JFK? How was your flight?
Without going into too much detail, the flight was very good. There will be a trip report posted by the end of the month so you can look out for that, it will have all the details you want.
Quoting Deaphen (Thread starter): 3. How would u recommend the J class service on EY?
I found the service a bit disorganized but generally better than most airlines I have flown. I however do find EY to be the best Middle Eastern airline that I have flown, QR being the only one missing.
Quoting Deaphen (Thread starter): 4. Do they have scale model aircraft available onboard?
Yes, they sell an A330 in their Duty Free catalogue
Quoting Deaphen (Thread starter): 5. I had to choose from BA and VS and i concluded that i would take EY for the 345, was that a wise decision? Would you do the same?
I would definately recommend EY over BA and VS. Plus changing planes at LHR is far from stress free these days.

Ok so i guess no one, including seat guru has the seat map of EY's 345 and 346. I jsut got my seats confirmed and from DEL -AUH it seat 6K and AUH-DEL its 4A. This is all in Pearl Zone, so from this can anyone confirm if it is undoubtedly the A346 being flown on this route?
How many rows does the first class take up? on Both the 345 and 346. My seats on the 345 are 7K and 7K again on thw way back.
help appreciated.
regards from India
Nitin

It is actually the A343, A6-EYC which has the old SQ seats.
A332s A6-EYV/YW have the old GF business class seats and A6-EYD/YE have the preliminary EY seats from 2005 (i.e. PRETTY nice but not flat).
The rest of the A332 fleet, A6-EYF/YG/YH/YI/YJ/YK/YL/YM/YN have the latest EY product including fully flat beds in J.
Regarding the A345 & A346, F/J Class seating is as follows. -- indicates an aisle. The AC/HK seats in J class are not perfectly in line with the DEFG seats, which usually sit between one row and the next, if you know what I mean. XX indicates no seat - this is the area where the TV screen/footrest is for the seat behind. Best I could do!
