What Is The Fascination With Tail Strikes?

I would post this in civil-av but it probably wouldn't get a civil answer.

I guess I am just wondering why tail strike is like the magic word on this site? If someone says "tail strike" alarm bells go off, lights flash, and confetti falls from the 747 at the top of the page.

what the hell is the big deal?

But my fascination is also because many years ago my uncle (who was a 747 captain) told me that tailstrikes only occur when women pilots are flying!

But seriously, ummm I don't really have a good answer but I feel it has to do with the fact that it's a rare event. I would compare it with a plane crash in that it's rare but not lethal and tragic you know? I sure would like to see more videos and pictures of tail strikes.
