Both Window And Aisle Seats

I was talking with a family member about if I prefer a window to aisle seats when flying. I normally go for an aisle if the flight is over 3 hours just so I can get up without disturbing anyone. But there have been many occations where I was able to get a window and aisle seat, mainly on ERJs if you select the "A" side of the cabin. The same goes for Saab 340's. I really like this opioin.

So my question is, what other aircraft are you able to get a window and aisle seat? I was looking on seatguru.com and i was also wondering, at the back of most 744s there is only room for two seats on either side of the a/c due to the curvature of the plane. If you are sitting in the window seats there can you get out into the aisle by using the little space there is from between the seat and the body of the plane? Or is it just to narrow?

You could, but aside of the curvature and overhead bins being an issue, you will find yourself in a narrowing gap, eventually completely blocked by the B/C rows behind you which continue to the very back of the cabin. I have though seen families use this to their advantage when seated behind each other, especially with small children, who can lay down on the floor to sleep.

Some airlines have 1-2-1 configuration in their F and C classes. For example, the F class in SQ's 744s and the F and C classes in their 77Ws and A380.

In WT+ 28B and 28J stand alone. Crappy window view but definitely a window and an aisle at the same time. But the even better seats (in my opinion) are 29A and 29K. Sure you have someone sitting next to you, but you are right next to the window and can get up and walk forward so you have an aisle seat too.

I love the window Aisle seat. If I had a choice I would rather fly an ERJ windown/aisle seat than fly on a 747-400. Of course an ERJ cant fly 8 hours but you get the point. The window aisle seat is awesome. Last time I had it was on an Eagle ERJ-135 from IAD-MIA it was a fantastic flight.

Yes, several 767 operators have 5-abreast J class layouts on international 767s vs. the much less spacious 6-abreast layouts used by other 767 operators. As mentioned, AC international 763s (those not yet converted to 1-1-1 flat-beds) are either 2-2-1 (original AC aircraft) or 1-2-2 (ex-CP aircraft). CO and AZ 763s are 2-1-2. I believe AA, UA and DL 763s are 2-2-2.

For those with the older-style seating, the 5-across 767 layout is much better with.wider seats, armrests and aisles and a generally much more spacious feeling than 6-across.
