Was thinking about how much flying I do the other day... turns out quite a bit being that its my job n all...
Anyway I set about adding it all up... quite hard to do really looking up all the old sectors... needed a fair bit of help from Great Circle Mapper: http://gc.kls2.com/
So my question is... how much flying have you done so far this year?
I've done something like 393,495nm (728,753km or 452,826mi for our American friends) so far this year (9 months)
works out that that is the same as flying completely around the world 34 times.
Looking at something like 525,000 nm for the year then (972,000km or 604,000mi).

This has to be probably my busiest year for flying and for that I am thankful! My grand total comes in at 20539 mi distributed among 14 airports in 5 countries.
By the end of the calendar year though I will have a grand total of 22840 mi. What a good year this was!
Great idea of yours but you might get moved pretty soon to Aviaton Polls & Prefs.

I've flown 52,543 miles in my lifetime, which is 84,560 km. My first flight was in 2001 but I didn't start flying frequently until 2005. Most of the time I just fly between Phoenix and Minneapolis, which is 1,276 miles each way.
This year I've flown 16,848 miles, much of which came from a transatlantic roundtrip. This is 27,114 km.

So far this year I've flown 27,377 miles on 43 flights. There's likely to be a few more to come, so I expect to finish the year on around 40,000 - roughly half that of last year, but I've been busier this year and couldn't make as many trips. If you're interested in the specifics, they are listed in my profile.

Actually I was unable to calculate it.
According my www.flightmemory.com web site, I made, this year, 122 flights. The shortest was a Menorca - Palma de Mallorca flight with an Air Nostrum plane and the longest was a New York - Singapore in an Airbus A340-500 of Singapore Airlines.
If I have time, I try to calculate it...

that www.flightmemory.com sure is a handy website! I didn't know about it until some of you posted the link! I was just using a combination of greatcirclemapper and excel to do mine... have since joined up.
