I know a lot of you know I'm already using AC to SYD (with parents) this Thanksgiving, but I just booked NW #19 MSP-NRT (with my twin ) to visit HKG and BKK from 13 Jan - 22 Jan. Sean Mendis will be hosting us in BKK.
We are using my company flight privileges and are non-reving, but I chose dates that will all but guarantee us NW World Business Class.
I've only used NW on AUS-MEM-AMS-LIS pre-9/11 (cs on KL). I would appreciate any comments, suggestions, experiences, and pictures of the WBC.

I fly WBC TPAC 6~8 times per year. For my money, it's the best deal around. The seats are great (for me). I can always sleep easily. The food is ok. Their AVOD has a lot of movies & it works well. The FAs can be spotty, but overall I have no complaints.
There are some exceptional seat selections on the 744: 10AB, 73AB, any row 77. Overall I think there's not a bad seat anywhere.
You can find plenty of pix on this site. Just search for NW cabin views.

Is this the same WBC as on NW's A333 ?
If so, I have to say that I found the seat very comfortable and I slept well (I was in seat 01B on a MSP-AMS flight). Enough space for me (standing 6ft4).
The service however was a bit lacking, but this may depend on the F/A-crew.
And it was way too cold (at least in that seat), giving me a nasty cold for a couple of days afterwards (yes, I did use the blanket).

To be honest, I don't know. I used NW on their A330 service from SEA to NRT last year with my girlfriend. My brother really wants to fly upperdeck on a 744, so I booked this flight.
Any pics from member's previous trip reports would be appreciated.

Quoting FXramper (Reply 3): There is one page of NW 744 cabin pic with WBC from the 1990s only.
Like terminalc indicated, my personal favorites on the 744 are also 10AB and 73AB. On the 332, I like the forward section "middle" seats, 2CG and 3CG. Coincidently, this coming Thursday I'm in 2G on NW6 (SIN-NRT) and in 10A on NW12 (NRT-DTW).
The AVOD is good and I haven't had too much of an issue with the F/As. (Albiet, I'm 54 so they're looking younger and younger every year!) When I compare them to the AF business product, which I just took from EWR-CDG (332) and CDG-SIN (77W), NW wins with no contest.

From http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/Nor...thwest_Airlines_Boeing_747-400.php : This plane only flies intercontinental routes. All these aircraft have been updated with the new World Business Class seats which feature the almost flat 176 degree recline and fancy electronic extras.
So the answer seems to be "yes".

NW/KLM world buss is just fine. Yes on NW the fa's may be a little old but if you treat them right they will look after you very well. I have used NW many times times on AMS-BOM and vv and it was always ok. Sure there are better airlines out there, but you pay a lot more too. Hope you enjoy your flight!!!

Thanks for all replies. I plan on using this opportunity for my next trip report. AUS-DTW-NRT-HKG-BKK-NRT-DTW-AUS.

It came back to my mind only earlier today, that in addition to "too cold" there was a unplesant steady stream of cold air blowing onto me (not from a personal airvent) which presumably "helped" in getting that ld afterwards.
