Can someone tell me about their experience flying North American Airlines from JFK to Georgetown, Guyana? I was looking at possibly traveling there in the near future (I've travelled quite a bit in South America; was looking to go somewhere a little more off the beaten track). Is NAA service reliable, and how is the onboard experience? How are the flight loads on that route? (I'm trying to use ID90 discount). They use 757's on that route, right? Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

I havnt been but my cousins have flown it and from what I heard it was reliable. Their flights were full out and back . With so little links and large Guyanese communities in the New York area there has always been a demand for air services.
When I flew I went the first time with Guyana Airways 757 (now bust sadly). 2nd time was with BWIA Tristar!!! (Also gone).
If you do go I would love to see a full TR . I have only been twice. My Dad's family are from there . All I can say is its a lot different from the rest of South America. Its basically the Caribbean on the South American continent. Also you need to keep everything locked up and not wear expensive watches etc.... the crime is very high. Maybe a tour would be better unless you know people down there. It is a lovely country though and the people are friendly , even if I am a bit biased.
