In Your position I would choose the A346, as you'll already fly the 744 to SFO.
However, some of the 744's are configured with a couple PE seats on the upper deck (but I think the high-density one without PE on upperdeck flies the LAX route). If you can guarantee, that the flight will have PE seats on the upperdeck and you can guarantee that you will get one of those, choose that, but otherwise, choose the A346.
I think the seats are the same, but I know the A346 will have the same or better.

Both VS7/8, 23/24 are A346 routes with the current timetable.
