Hi all..

I'm planning a trip DTW to Dublin and I Aer Lingus had the lowest fare.

How is the service?? I will be going AA DTW-ORD, and switching to Aer Lingus, ORD-Dublin.

I haven't bought my ticket yet, so I'm open to suggestions.

Thanks  Smile

Well if your flying from ORD you are much more likely to get one of their newest aircraft, EI-DUZ. It is equipped with new seats and a new Panasonic AVOD system. Dont expect much in terms on food, meals out of Ireland are usually very nice but meals into Ireland arent that great. The crew are usually very good, for me they make Aer Lingus what it is. We have a few Aer Lingus FAs on A.net so you might want to ask them or anyone else in the Irish threads for info or advise.

I have only flown once with Aer Lingus: AMS-ORK in Sept. 2006. It was the most pleasant shorthaul flight that I have ever had, and I told the F/As that when I disembarked. In the short 1hr 20min they did a full BOB service, with beverages, and a Duty Free as well. The BOB was excellent, and the attitude of the crew outstanding. The food that they had was very good, I only had a sandwich and cup of tea, but everything fresh and tasty - and served with a genuine smile. I have heard many good things about Aer Lingus. When I go back to Ireland, I would love to travel with them again, but being from Vancouver that makes it very difficult. The airline seems to be a true representation of what Irish hospitality really is.
Cheers,

Some friends of mine have just returned from Ireland and flew Aer Lingus from Boston, they were not too impressed with Aer Lingus, very tight in economy and nothing good to say about the entertainment, old TV programs is what they told me. All I can say is what they told me, they loved Ireland.

That's a shame, sounds like they got one of the older aircraft with no PTVs and old cabins which is likely on the BOS route. I'd be surprised if it was the newer aircraft as that has AVOD, new seats and it's proving very popular with passengers.
