Hi All!, i have had the privilege to go to China this may, and will be flying SLC-SFO on DL, and then SFO-ICN-HKG on Asiana, about May 4th, and returning to the U.S from PEK-ICN-LAX-SLC, on May 17th. I have never flown on Asiana, and was just curious about their Econ service, what should i expect in terms of meals, IFE, staff, equipment? I'm flying this itinerary as part of a school trip, so i cant change it. I was hoping to fly on a 744, but seeing as this is Asiana, that doesn't seem to likely... I guess ill have to settle for a boring 777 , Anyways Thanks in advance for any information on this.

I've flown SEA-ICN on one of their 772's and the F/As are quite nice and attentive in economy. The food is what you would expect, and if you want to try something new, try the Bim Bi Bap Korean meal. There is AVOD on the 777's that I've been on, but lack of it on other aircraft is usually compensated by the F/As service. I haven't been on one of their 744's though...

Flown on OZ BKK ICN BKK last year in business class so I am not so sure about their eco. Service was great and food was ok too. The 744s are not very up to date in terms of IFE and seats, but I think most of their 777s are. So I think you are much better of on a 777 in my opinion.
To me their service standard is almost as good as SQ's. Go for the Korean food if you have the choice, very delicious, tasty, light and healthy too. And Korean girls are BEAUTIFUL!!! I am sure you will enjoy your flight.
"No more window seats in business class, sir!" "Any in economy? Yes? Then downgrade me!"

Quoting JRDC930 (Reply 4): Any one else? i find it hard to believe no one else has flown on OZ.
I have, but I can only comment on their service for a 25-minute domestic flight 10 years ago
What most likely hasn't changed though is the service. Courteous and don't act like they don't want to be there.
Flying an aeroplane with only a single propeller to keep you in the air. Can you imagine that? -Capt. Picard
