I just want to hear what people love the best about the A340-500, im my opinion, its the most beautiful airliner ever built. I guess this thread would basically be for the 345 fans.

So lets here it,

Mine would have to be the 4 big engines which go perfectly with the fuselage length and also its ability to fly from virtually any point in the world to any other nonstop. In a private config. ofcourse.

Regards
Nitin

That it's the only Airbus I really like.  Wink

Seriously though, the aircraft just looks good. Accompanied with the fact that it does have impressive range just makes it atractive to me.

Yup.

Plus, I've heard the cabin is extremely quiet.

These are my favorite liveries on the A345:

Its range is fantastic, and I think the engines look a lot better than those dried up looking A340-200/300 engines. Pretty much any livery looks good in this plane.

Best!? Errrmmmm... I better keep my mouth shut! Some people know how much I like Scarebus, so there wont be a good outcome, so I better be quiet

BUT, if I had to pick something, it would be a comfortable F class seat in the A345 somewhere nice Big grin

The 345 is my favorite among Airbus' 4-engined jobs. The aircraft to me, is just so proportionally
pleasing to my eyes. Like just the right curves on a woman.
The aircraft also reminds me of the good old days of 707s, DC-8s & CV-990s. The 345 is their legacy.
Regards.

Of course I think the A345 is simply a beautiful aircraft, great to look at. Not to mention that its among the quietest airliners on the inside, and is also pretty quiet on the outside.
My favorite feature, however, is the lovely purr/whine those RR Trents make at takeoff thrust!  bigthumbsup

It's beautiful and it's BIG.
And it's not so common, if I saw it everywhere I would probably not like it as much.

The only thing I really hate about the A345 is that I have never been on one!

Funny... I seem to remember CO did buy some really late 762ER.. not the most economical aircraft ever by "at the time" standars was it? May be not all the airlines flying them are so upset like someone would like to imply...
No pun intended

Catch it if you can Even with only 3 longhaul aircraft in my log I can at least say I've flown the A345 (DXB-MEL) which makes me quite proud of it or at least happy and lessens a little the pain not having flown other highnesses like the 747.

Check my profile for report.

Just slightly off-topic here, but how many 345s were assembled?
Jetphotos.net shows only 26. Is this accurate?

And it's a damn shame too. AA's colors would've looked great on the 345.  Wink

The engines, which are nicely proportional to the fuselage length. The CFM56s on the A340 -200 & -300 were ugly.

I agree. Always thought the A330 looked funny with that long fuselage and long wings and those two tiny engines. The A340-300's extra two balance them out, but the larger Trent 500s on the A340-500 balance it out even better.
