Ok, what was your first post on anet? (easy to find via a search). Was it a constructive piece of wisdom, or were you harshly criticizing another poster? Have you grown over time as a contributor?
My first post was in 2000, responding to a thread entitled, "Fat people to fly with comfort." The title alone seemed so ludicrous, and the majority of posts were so insensitive! So here it is:
Let's take people who don't know how to dress properly and put them at the back.
People who talk loudly should sit on the wing.
People who think that their cell phone conversations are for public consumption (and therefore talk as loudly as they want before the plane leaves the gate) don't belong on the plane at all.
And finally, let's take selfish people who have no compassion for others and put them in the shoes of those they mock. Hard to judge others until you have been in their place.

This was mine, from when I went by the name of andy_baker rather than BAViscount! Seems as though I posted even less back then than I do now...I can't find anything I posted between this in June 2002 and one that I made in January 2004!
It seems like an eternity ago , I had been lurking for a long time before I joined. The one thing I have learned is that you need to have a thick skin !!!

Legal Drinking Age, posted June 28, 2005....about legal drinking age on various airlines...whether the legal drinking age was dependent on the airline's home country or where they were flying from/to?

With a unique Username you can klick on "Search" (the link is above the thread title).
Enter your Username in field "Keywords", select search option "All fields, oldest post first".
This you will have to repeat for each of the forums you usually do post in and compare the dates manually.
P.S. This does not work with a generic Username like mine, as search option "Username field by relevance" does not sort old to new and I hesitate to browse through 55 pages (!) of results (with 50 lines each) for "civil"-forum ...

Yeah, searching Elite came up with a lot of other stuff rather than my posts...

Less than a year of membership and posting, although was a fan of this site before. My first post was a question about F and J class service to HNL. I was trying to decide whether to book with AA again upfront with their new biz or mix it up with another carrier. I got several great responses and feedback from folks who had done the route recently on various carriers. And a cordial welcome for my first posting.

Its obviously going to be QF 20x daily EMA-SYD with A380s!!
I wish, will U.K get QF A380?"
It was posted in the thread which annonced rumours that turned out to be GB announcing the start of flights from EMA under the BA Connect guise. AFAIK it never happened.
Nearly two years later, and I have to say I have neglected A.net for a while. GCSE's are leaving me incredibly short of time at the minute.

As one of the pilots doing these, I had to make a few corrections. They had it all wrong! I have been a lurker for years but I just had to sign up and pay to get this misinformation straightened out, it was well worth it. I was pretty wound up because it's pretty important to me. It's nice not to be a non-lurker anymore though!

Wouldn't even be able to figure it out - I started posting here in 1998 prior to the creation of this forum software.
There were two forums at the time - General Aviation (today's CivAv) and Photo Requests - at the time, A.net's database was at about 20,000 photos, so people would request certain airline photographs in that forum.
There were no formal logins or anything; you had to type in your username each time (and you could easily change it); no passwords or anything...very basic forum software. Much has changed in the last 10 years that I've been on here.
Reservations/Call Center Supervisor, TACA Int'l.
The service is provided by an independent company, however, so I don't get to enjoy all the benefits of an airline employee (1 ID90 ticket yearly... is that fair?) Sad
But I enjoy my work! Smile
Little did I know I'd have to quit my job just a week after that... Oh well, I'm back in action, now as a travel agent
