What is your favorite current airline commercial? United's are good, but I saw British Airways' latest during Wimbledon and was very impressed.

On a separate note, does anybody know the music that is used in the BA commercials? I have seen BA use the song before.

I haven't seen them in awhile, but my favorite is the Frontier Airlines commericals with the talking animals on the tail.

Aerolineas Argentinas, won a Gold Lion at Cannes last week. A bit kitschy, but fine advertising.

United. Not bad.

Best aviation print campaign is without a doubt Virgin´s IFE campaign. I love it (3 different ads):

SAS has a funny one (not that I've seen a whole lot of them)

Anyways, there's this stiff businness man that sits around playing some sort of monkey game on the IFE. He asks FA to come over, whispers something in her ear and she then proceeds to announce his problems to "jump on the train on level 27" and asks the entire cabin for help.

Wow, that sounds terribly boring when I read it myself, guess you gotta see it...

Was it my imagination or did BA use a different advert last month - with the old music by Yani (Jazzed up a bit) and a much smaller (30 people) face.

I prefer the Landor (Yani) ones better

I've mentioned this several times but as long as the topic keeps coming up, I'll mention it again.

My favorite all time airline commercial was produced by Wells, Rich and Green Advertising out of SFO for Hughes Air West just prior to their being acquired by Republic.

It showed a coach class passenger boarding through the first class cabin where the passengers and flight attendants are dressed in togas. A beautiful flight attendant is holding a clump of grapes while this heavyset and balding toga-clad FC passenger eats them off the vine as he holds his flute of champagne. Lots of fun music and laughing in the background.

As the passenger moves to coach, the scene changes to black and white and shows the hold of a slave ship whereas the passengers are rowing with the flight attendants wielding whips and chains. The sound changes to a sad rowing chant.

The spot was appropriately named "Orgy".

Does anybody remember a commercial of Delta where a guy was walking in a desert, and then opened his arms, and the shadow projected on the sand was a twinjet? Enya "Adiemus" on the background

It was beautiful! Would that be available somewhere?

I remember a very good one of Braniff International. A lady flying First Class begin taking (as a souvenir) the fork, the knife, the pillow, etc. and at the end, when she is disembarking she took the DC8 along with her. Really funny.

Hang on, just going to my CD collection, they did an advert in 1992. I think it is called "Aria on air"?

I will check now for you.

Steve.

Hi Blink182.

I have found it, BA did a commercial 1992/3 called "Aria on air" by Malcolm Mclaren.

I quite liked the Delta Airlines advert around 1997, the theme was by Adiemus, great tune.

I know they are not current but I just wanted to say they were great commercials.

Best Regards, Steve.

oh gosh, i miss living in colorado simply for the frontier commercials!

anything with 'grizz' the bear, or 'larry' the mountain lion is so funny!

they are worth a view, especially the one called "counting the miles"
