I just checked MIA-MAD-MIA in AA and IB and the cost is over US$6,000.

If I travel to another city in the US or have a stop in another city in Europe, is there another way to travel in Business to Madrid for much less money? Any Ideas?

Thanks in advance...

Hola Ricardo:

This exact same thing has usually hit me when booking flights. It is always cheaper to fly with an stop over. For example: I will be travelling to YYC in Easter and it was cheaper to fly BCN-FRA-YVR-YYC than FRA-YYC,; when I mean cheaper, I mean 600 € cheaper, quite an amount. So I went for the longer option, plus you get more miles, and I will be arriving YYC only about two hours later than the non-stop flight.

I suggest you have a look at www.orbitz.com or www.expedia.com, as they usually have good prices or at least you can see the cheaper airlines and then go to their web page and see if they have any offer.

¡Buena suerte!

Salut!

Roger

In April and May, you can get MIA-MAD-MIA non-stop with AA in business for about $2,700. Cheaptickets.com.

Really? I thought those sites only give you "coach" options.. I will check them out, I purchase all my trips through Expedia.

well: AA.com shows US$2700 but for one way only, so we are talking near US$5,400 round trip:

I checked on AF for MAD-MIA via CDG. The cheapest business fare is 2142 Euros which is quite excellent ! You have this fare by example for travel dates may 1st to may 7 or may 1st to may 14.
Hurry up !!!
cheers

Hola Ricardo:

I tried some random dates, another tip try to avoid weekends: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays are cheaper, and found some interesting prices, even with AA, flights about 1900€ (expedia, 16/04-07/05) and 2700$ (orbitz 29/04-13/05)

¡Más suerte!

Salut!

Roger

I keep getting around $2700 RETURN on CheapTickets. Take April 15 out, April 22 back, or May 13 out, May 20 back. MIA-MAD: depart 615pm, arrive 845am. MAD-MIA: depart 1110am, arrive 235pm. Total: $2755 RETURN.

Yeah try using edreams.com

Using Iberia direct you can fly Business class for €1832 (e.g. 5 May/13 May)

So I wouldnt pay anything more than €2000 for this! which is a lot less than the $6000 you were quoted!

try using lastminute.com

You can get a grid view seeing which dates are cheapest for going vs coming back

in May it seems the cheapest was actually going on 6th coming back on 13th.... have a play on there

Well, I haven't bought it yet, but I am considering L'Avion, all business class from JFK or EWR to Paris-Orly and then IB from Orly to Barajas for US$100. Total cost including the flight from MIA to JFK or EWR (roundtrip) is US$ 1700....

L'Avion JFK-Orly is US$1,300 not bad ah?

What do you guys think?

Almost as cheap as coach!
What is this l'avion company? I havent heard of them!

I see they are kinda doing what Maxjet did - Between business class and premium economy in terms of seating - which failed on the London NY route - as Silverjet and EOS offered a far superior product - albeit at a higher price.

Just looking at their website now - any more info? When they started? profitability?

I thought you were looking for MIA and not NYC ???
L'avion serves EWR, not JFK
