It's my first time to fly AirTran. I'm flying non-stop PHF-MCO and back. I'm flying 717s to and coming back. How's the IFE and is there any food? I'll be taking pictures in-fliglt and before doors close. Please help, Thanks!

IFE will consist of XM Satellite Radio. If you are in economy, you will get a drink service and a bag of pretzels. If you are in business class, they have a snack basket they pass around with a lot of yummy snacks to choose from. That's about it, though. Enjoy the 717 - great airplane.

I travelled FL, BWI-FLL on a 717 last month. Economy is cramped, only 30in of pitch. The XM Satellite Radio is convenient and passes the time quickly. You'll get free drinks and a small bag of pretzels. If you're seated in economy, depending on how full the flight is, you can upgrade to Business for $60 one way. Like RW170 said, the 717 is great and very quiet in the front of the plane.

The back isn't all that bad, at least in comparison with the DC-9 it replaced @ FL. I flew LAS-DFW-ATL in the last row about four years back and to me, it wasn't too noisy. You could actually talk without having to yell.
