Just curious, has anyone on here ever proposed to their significant other in the air?

I've seen it on 'Airline' before. And I saw it real life on an NZ 733 flight from WLG to AKL last year, she accepted his proposal. The whole plane applauded.

There's a member on Jetphotos.net's forums who proposed to his girlfriend with a really unique plan (forget exactly what he did) on a US Express ERJ once. She accepted & they planned on getting married....until she was killed in a car accident a couple weeks later.  Sad

I have, 1st March 2000. On a flight from Manchester to Edinburgh on a Dash 8, reg G-BRYY. Got a round of applause when she said yes, not that I put her under any pressure with the 30+ pax and crew aboard. She was very happy, and we a had a great weekend, very romantic.

However, on the way home she would not speak for nearly a week as I visited the flightdeck (the days when you could with no problem), and the Captain on realising my hobby was aircraft offered me a jump-seat landing. Well what would you say ?????

She is talking now - too much!

Cheers, Steve.

I recall many years ago, flying a Piper Chieftain on a sightseeing flight for a man and his girlfriend. He wanted to fly over Niagara Falls, so I took then down that way.

As we were overflying the Falls, he took out an engagement ring and proposed! I was a bit embarrassed, but it was nothing compared to when she said NO!

I'll tell you, it was a LONG silent flight home. It was all could do to get that plane quickly back on the ground,

Just because I stopped arguing, doesn't mean I think you are right. It just means I gave up!
