Hello everyone, I'am Michael Ward, I had an airlines.net account awile ago but I just got it renewed, anyway on April 16th I'am going to China with my school. My flights are BOS-IAD-PEK on United Airlines, then XIY-PVG on some chinese airline, I dont know it yet, and then PVG-SFO-BOS also on United, anyways this is my first international, 747, and United AIrlines flight in a long time, about 7 years. My question is what can I expect? How is the service? How are the terminals in BOS(been to BOS before, just not Terminal C) IAD, PEK, XIY, and PVG? How are United's A319's, 747's, and 757's?
Also, of course I'am in Y. lol.
also I'am going to be posting a trip report soon from my last flight BOS-ATL-RSW and back on Delta, I will post it sometime this weekend.

The A319 is a nice plane, although I'm guessing you will only be on it a short while if that's the BOS-IAD segment. You'll get a beverage service.
Many people dislike the midfield concourse at IAD where you'll connect, but I don't think it's that bad. Although the main terminal at IAD is absolutely beautiful (especially at night), the midfield concourse is nothing special.
Unfortuantely, UA's 747s don't offer the best in-flight experience in Y. There are no personal TVs, just monitors in the ceiling. Food and beverage service should be plentiful, however, as they do almost constant services throughout the flight. IAD-PEK is a trans-polar route, I believe, so it will be fun to watch on AirShow as you fly over the North Pole.
Upon arrival back in the States, SFO has a beautiful international terminal you will enjoy connecting in. The domestic connection back to BOS should be fairly easy.
Haven't been to China, so can't comment on any of the airports there. But thanks for flying United Airlines! Have a great trip! Look forward to reading your report.

I've flown UA transpac from ORD-HKG, LAX-NRT, and SFO-KIX, 747's and 777's. Luckily, I was able to fly in Business Class (was flying for work). It was about 5 years ago, but I don't think much has changed since then (UA is in the process of updating their business class though). Expeience was really nice - service, food, seats, entertainment made the flights really enjoyable. I know that doesn't help you much since you're in Economy, but expect a pleasant experience.
