Just got this fab opportunity to book a trip to NRT from Germany in Austrian Biz in July at a nice 50% discount - which is about 1.800 Euro return fare  Smile

I've read some trip reports about flights to NRT in the past - and remember of a special hotel close to NRT with nice runway views. Bur unfortunately I can't find any of those reports and would like to ask for help please.

the runway rooms now attract a surcharge but also include breakfast.

Absolutely the Marroad International Hotel at Narita. I've stayed there twice and will be again in July. They have a Spotters Plan called "Runway 16" plan with breakfast for 10,000yen including taxes. The rooms are basically in-line with the runway threshold. There is also a park on the opposite side with great views. Google Narita spotting guide will give you all the info you need.

yes but those aren't the ones he is after, the specific hotel he is after is the Marroad. lets not post links to hotels which will create confusion, there is one, and only one, Marroad Hotel at Narita and its the only one that offers runway view special on reservation.

the room you'll likely get is 1096 which is the one I always get at NRT

Here you find a list of Hotels at Narita Airport and Narita. http://www.narita-airport.jp/en/travel/hotel/index.html
The Holiday Inn above doesn't have (very good) airport views. In case you have enough time and you are not only into spotting, have a look at Tokyo Downtown or at least the Naritasan Temple in Narita it self and Aeon Shopping Mall if you are into shopping.

Thank you all for posting - the Marroad International Hotel for sure will be my first choice!!!

And obviously I will tour downtown Tokyo to do the sightseeing options, maybe some more flying too - I'm curious about those high density 777s  Wink
