Hello, guys!

I am planning on a trip to the East Coast next month and I am trying to set-up my flight. Just like everybody else here, I LOVE FLYING and I want to earn the most miles possible. My question is, flying from FAT-JST on a T-class fare basis, with 3 connections, what route could I take so I get the most miles?

Quoting Jasp25 (Thread starter):
FAT-JST (..) 3 connections,

So what do you have figured out on your own ?! UA's hubs are pretty clear ...

What about FAT-LAX-ORD-IAD-JST ?

Or transfer in DEN instead of ORD.

If there actually are flight connections available at all and on your not-stated travel datas please check on your own ...

I figured FAT-LAX-SFO-IAD-JST - I believe that flying from the West Coast to IAD, San Francisco would be the longest flight. ICould this be the route with the most number of miles?

I was thinking about FAT-SFO-BOS-IAD-JST but SFO-BOS segment does not count as a valid connecting city.

... as long as FAT-LAX-SFO is not considered (and disallowed ??) voluntary backtracking ...

Another forum will help you greatly regarding this matter.  airplane
http://www.flyertalk.com/

I have been a member there many long years in a different forum name. You will need to register. It's easy and free.
You have a great section that will help you maximize the miles and help you find itineraries. Go to the Miles and Points section and scroll down the page to "Mileage Runn Deals".
Click on that and explore and see for yourself. You can post, ask questions... and go through the rest of the forums too.
A truly great resource!

I hope this will help!  cheerful

There was a better way to fly it was called Concorde

FAT-LAX-SFO-IAD-JST will get you 3919 miles and is probably your best bet, as you have 3 segments under 500 miles in there. Going through ORD rather than SFO is about the same total miles but far fewer Mileage Plus miles.

Have you considered flying the other way around the world. By this I mean FAT-LAX- Somewhere in Asia- Somewhere in Europe- Somwhere on the east coast of America- JST. Just find airlines that will give partner miles and you can A LOT of air miles!

a) That would require 4 transfers, whereas the challenge was for 3 transfers.
b) This would be a open-jaw RTW and could not be purchased for the cost of a domestic tickets in fares-class T.
Plus I assume that the OP also wants to get back home, so this would be a real RTW ...

That sure sounds fun but it will cost relatively high but yours is a good idea.. later perhaps when I have the budget for it.
