Hi Guys

Just wondering if anyone has been to the Renaissance hotel at Heathrow on one of their spotting packages, and if so what is the runway view like. Is it possible to take photographs and what size lense would be recommended.
As much info would be truly appreciated.
Thanking you all in advance,

Paul

I was there last week. Views of the runway are fantastic. I didn't have my camera with me, but I think a standard 70-200/300 zoom lens will be fine. Sun unfortunately in front of you most of the day. I had a room on the second floor which meant the street light posts may be in your pictures. A third floor room would be better. Nonetheless, a great experience. I'd come back again.

WOW i think its a must. For £96.00 you are guaranteed a runway view access to the runway lounge and breakfast.
Got to be the best views at Heathrow whilst the viewing areas are closed. Come on BAA please make provisions for the numerous enthusiasts you are letting down. Millions on Terminal 5, How about a couple of thousand on a mound.
Thanks for the thread BCAL and to TR1 for the advice.
Here's wishing you all many happy years spotting.

Paul

I've been every year since about 2002.

Get the hell down there! It's fantastic.
