Most people love flying EK, and consider it one of the best flying experiences around.
There, that's something nice!
But KE is a great airline too (a friend who's recently flown both in Y preferred KE), and one wonders how much cheaper it had to be to fly all the way south to DXB rather than just non-stop on KE?
Of all the things to worry about... the Wookie has no pants.

I flew LGW-DXB-BKK-HKG last summer and EK staff were the best i've met. The transfer is very easy although the terminal a bit short of space and places to sit down but all in all i quite enjoyed EK and would recommend them. Hope you have a good trip!

My experiences from 2006 MUC-DXB-BKK in Y class:
Great ICE on B777ER, the best IFE I have seen, and the best airline meals, pre booked sea food.
The A330 was a lot worse, old birds. Both a/c had a very tight seating, not much shoulder room, leg room ok.
DXB can be growded and rather uncomfortable, but you will survive.
