I LOATHE non-stops. There's no fun there. I want the long layovers. I want aircraft variety. I like exploring this great land of ours in multiple aircraft. After all I only fly once a year nowadays...

Depends! I planned a trip to Canada in May. I thought about trying AC and their new 777s... But the full fare was amazingly expensive and even the "best deal" was pretty expensive. So I planned to do it non rev... But because the flights are so full... No chance to get on those flights... So I had to change plans again. What will be the easiest way to get to Canada and nonreving! so now I am taking the LH 490 FRA-SEA and then AC jazz to YYC... Back to FRA from YYC direclty! So it won't be a great 777, now it is only 2 times A333  Sad

I'm the kind of traveller who hates massive long flights. 14 hour flights are what I hate.

I'd be happier with 3 - 3.5 hour flights on supersonic planes with stops in between. That's less exhausting. I'd hate being on a B777-200LR doing one of those ultra-long-range flights - that'd be absolutely miserable in economy class.

A fabulous and deserving one !

- I like to pay the lowest possible fare but be pampered the whole way (best if someone else pays entirely).

- I want my choice of seat on my choice of aircraft, and I don't want anyone sitting next to me, in front of me or behind me (basically, I want the plane to myself).

- I will deliberately select routings to fly on airlines and aircraft types I haven't flown before, even if it makes the journey longer and more complicated.

- Everything else being equal, I will always take a stopping flight over a nonstop flight.

- Given the choice I will always select a fully-flat bed product over a slopey flat bed product, but slopey is always better than not flat at all.

- I will always take a non-US carrier over a US carrier where a choice is available, unless it's a US carrier I haven't been on before.

- When flying to the US I will always select a new arrival city over one I've been through before - so far I have entered the US through 15 different airports.

- I will always try to avoid connecting flights through CDG and LHR

- There are no airlines on whom I would outright refuse to fly, although I would probably draw the line at doing any domestic flying in the Democratic Republic of Congo. I will however try to avoid ever flying on AA's new Business Class product - it looks awful.

- I have never done a mileage run but try to juggle my flying to maintain an adequate tier status with one carrier in each alliance.

Glasgow to Manchester via Aberdeen

absolutely sane in my book - I once convinced BA to change my routing from BHX to Sumburgh to take in a connection in GLA and stops at INV and KOI

There can't be too many UK domestic routes with 3 intermediate stops en route  Silly

I 'nearly' booked a flight LAX-SAT with a connection in MEX in 2001 on UA (when they were codesharing with MX) but chickened out over immigration hassles, so went via TUS and DEN instead for my first ride on a CRJ - that's how I learned the CRJ-200 is NOT an a/c to get excited about if you're 6'3" and like a window seat...

next one will be LAX-TPE on EVA Airways on 744 on the upper deck in Y (13hrs 40 scheduled) - my travelling companion is dreading it  boxedin  - me, I hope it'll never end  cloudnine

Next up: LAX-LHR NZ002 Y SkyCouch! LHR-LAX NZ001 Y

I'm one who tends to be extremely anxious in the airport itself because I tend to rush myself through no matter how early or how late I am and I only seem to calm down once I'm on my flight that is already in the air. I seem to have developed this fear that no matter what I do to make things easier for the staff of whatever airline I'm flying, I always feel something will go wrong even if everything is fine and all these fingers will be pointing at me for causing any inconvenience.

Once in flight I seem to be rather mellow and quiet just minding my own business. Anything around 6+ hours tend to be a bit long for me. I am dreading my flight to Japan in a couple of years.

I'm the kind of traveller who will do anything so long as it's cheap and interesting! I have no qualms about flying on 'dogey' airlines, likewise I will fly on any aircraft which the captain deems airworthy and safe to do so.

I will also go miles out of my way to fly on interesting aircraft or unusual airlines - it's my hobby and it gives me a buzz, so why not. This could also be why I travel alone 99% of the time, as family and friends have given up trying to make me take direct flights with them!  silly

LH while not no.1 choice, seems to crop up with monotonous regularity. I actually like transferring through MUC, but I can take FRA or leave it alone, you have to walk too far.

For example SQ A345 have a special, fully airconditioned place onboard especially for you, it is flat as a bed at home, dark, desinfected, and you are alone there as well....normally it is used for corpse tough, maybe you can spiritually meet Ingrid Bergman there, for your kiss. - what else can you dream of...on all other commercial planes you have only one choice: rent the toilet

lthough I would probably draw the line at doing any domestic flying in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

I flew Hewa Bora -- pre recent crash. It wasn't bad.

Now, some of the other carriers are a bit interesting.......

Type of traveler:

Loyal to one airline internationally (BA, for both fares and services).

Loyal to one allinace (Skyteam) domestically (prefering CO).

Will balance connections, fares, and plane (prefer stops, prefer time in lounge, HATE RJs).

I find other pax usually fun to chat with.

I find the FAs with a sense of humor (and some of the best have been on RJs) a great deal of fun to fly with.

Now, in an ideal world, I would fly F doing comparisons and publishing the results to pay for the tickets.
