Are there any reasonably cheap tickets on NW (XJ) Saab 340s out of DTW? The reason I ask is that before the probable (but I hope not) demise of NW I would liked to have flown on all of their present fleet of passenger aircraft, as shown in the World Traveler magazine. The only only one I am missing is the Saab 340.
A lot of the flights on the 340 are super expensive, but I am sure there are good deals from times to time. Does anyone know of any potentially good deals? Where do the 340s fly to out of DTW?

Well, you could make a short hop to somewhere in Michigan (AZO, PLN, MKG, MBS, CIU, MQT, APN, etc.). I am not sure of the price of those but some of them might be cheaper because of the short distance...
Just a thought...but yes, the prices can be very high...

I'd drive up to FNT or down to TOL and start a trip there - fares at these airports (especially FNT) tend to be a bit cheaper (esp. FNT with FL being there). Also helps that both FNT-DTW and TOL-DTW have Saabs on the route (FNT has 1x daily; TOL is all-Saab).
