They say they are very happy. But I am not sure if they are really that happy.

We really won't know for a while. Remember that there was a chorus of positive reports about the 340, until the dispatch rate started looking bad, and the fuel numbers didn't hit their goals. Give it a year, and see what they say then.

Once it finally has been in service... How long will it take until the A380 makes profit, considering the loss SQ made because the couldn't operate the A380  Wink

We're just about there already.....  scratchchin

and it has so far had an unparallelled dispatch rate and, according to SQ, beaten its fuel burn targets.....
Waiting a bit longer is going to change all that because........?
A340NG dispatch rates were poor from day 1

Some things will never change, will they?

Heard from the trip report and news

News - SQ is very happy with A380 because it can save fuel - not sure about it...
Trip report - SQ crew don't like to reach the overhead bins cos it's too tall for them to tidy up the suitcases/bags and the galley is not comfortable or too small?

... for which they got compensation...

Not to forget, of course, the fact that they're going to be waiting longer than expected for yet another aircraft that they've ordered...

I think Singapore Airlines is generally happy with the Airbus A380 as an aircraft.

The products have been described continually as "well-received". If ever there was a conservative statement, I think that would be one of them.

The despatch isn't 100% but it's still very good on a guesstimate perspective. An exact number can be attained but I would have to go through records and punch the numbers into a calculator.

- The galley issue is not aircraft related, more so airline specification.

Perhaps airbus should have put in another deck  Wink

But this, and the galley, would more be an issue with the interior SQ commissioned for the A380, not the aircraft itself. so far as I can see, the aircraft is performing well, not frequently going tech, and is usually filled well above the break even mark.

A mezzanine was one option considered by Singapore Airlines, but they didn't want to frighten Airbus and/or their engineers !
