Next winter I'm looking to take a trip to London. My preference would be a non-stop from BOS to LHR. So my options would be either AA (777 or 763), BA (777), or VS (A343). AA's fares are much more expensive than BA and VS. Between BA and VS, which airline should I choose in terms of IFE, Food, Comfort, etc. (In Economy). On a side note, does VS use any other equipment than the A343 (A346 or 747?) at BOS in the winter?

Unless you are a devoted one world member, go VS. The fact that they use the A343 menas that there would only be two seats on the sides with 4 in the middle. This is a great configuration and is standard on pretty much all of the A340's. Food is just as good as BA, IFE is probably better and comfort is a big plus on VS. Also amenity kits are handed out which are quite generous for Y. Other than the cabin being a bit cold at times VS wins. Plus the aircraft is very quiet.

Quoting Qantasistheway (Reply 7): Quoting VikingA346 (Reply 6):
Oh, and I would choose the 777 over the 340 anyday - I'd rather have some semi-powerful engines rather than the hairdryers that the 340 has...
Then why did you call yourself VikingA346? not VikingB777? lol
He probably meant the hairdryers on the A343 unlike the actual powerful engines the A346 has.
Anyways, I love VS a lot. BA are wonderful when I fly them inside Europe but have never done a long haul with them.
My experience would say VS with a guarantee in AVOD whereas BA I think still has mostly looping entertainment (right term??)

Most certainly take British Airways or Virgin Atlantic over an American carrier. BA and VS are very different airlines, but both very good at what they do. Making your decision is simply a matter of personal preference.
