Hi everyone,

Next week I am flying to LAX with KLM and NWA. The itinerary is as follows:

Jul 24 IST-AMS KLM B 737-900
Jul 24 AMS-MSP NWA A 330-300
Jul 24 MSP-LAX NWA A 320-200

Aug 1 LAS-DTW NWA B 757-200
Aug 1 DTW-AMS KLM B 777-200ER
Aug 2 AMS-IST KLM B 737-800

KLM allows online check-in 30 hours before the flights and NWA does 24 hours before. Will KLM let me check in for my NWA flights too?

Another question is about NWA upgrades offered during online-check in. Will they ask me when I check in on KLM website too?

How will the whole thing work?

Thanks for the answers

Yes.

I have no experience, but I would not count onto it.

Online-check in:
Enter your booking reference and/or FF-number.
Select flights
Select seats
Enter (if not already done), your personal information & first address in the U.S.
After confirmation, you will receive an eMail with your Boarding Pass as PDF-document (maybe also a receipt).
Print this Boarding Pass.
Head for the airport.
Drop your to-be-checked luggage - usually there is a signposted "bag drop"-counter by KL - and have it checked-through to LAX (not DTW).
Fly to AMS
Connect to DTW with a new security check at the gate at AMS.
Fly to DTW
Go through immigration.
Important: Collect your luggage.
Pass US Customs
Drop your luggage (already labelled for LAX) onto a signposted belt.
Head for departures (again a new security check included).
Fly to LAX.
Enjoy L.A, the coach ride to Las Vegas and Las Vegas itself ....

Btw: On the return flight, your luggage will go all the way from LAS to IST without any need (or chance) to pick it up at DTW or AMS.

Maybe depending on if their are any upgrades available, rarely will you see and international upgrade offered, and sometimes domestic.

Here is what the flights are looking like as of today.

NW 41 AMS-MSP 25/34 in C and 264/264 in Y
NW 307 MSP-LAX 4/16 in F 102/132 in Y
NW 315 MSP-LAX 4/16 in F and 120/132 in Y

Not sure which LAX flight your on.

For Aug 1
NW 1196 LAS-DTW 13/22 in F and 154/160 in Y

I will be on these very full flights. I secured a nice window seat on AMS-MSP but no seats available to chose on MSP-LAX. I might end up being stuck in an undesirable middle seat for 4 hours  Sad Same goes fro the return LAS-DTW flights...
